Ratings:Gangs Of Wasseypur II

gangs of wasseypur 2 review

Before going to bed last night, after watching GOW 2, I told a friend of mine that I really wanted to dream of hugs, kisses and puppies. I cant remember now if I did but thats better than waking up in the middle of the night to hanging heads, bulleted bodies, blood, gore, guns okay Ill stop. It wasnt as though I wasnt expecting this. I was. Part 1 and the trailers/teasers for GOW 2 prepared me for it. And though I may have had my hands ready to cover my eyes through the movie, it was one movie I wouldnt have missed for the world. IT WAS INCREDIBLE. So incredible that Ill probably be back in a theater watching the two parts back to back sometime this week.

My review started a little dramatically, but there is more to the film than violence. I loved Faizal Khans chemistry with his wife. Actually, I loved Faizal Khan (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) in general. Period. He was funny. Got stoned in style (which if youre a stoner, or were a stoner, youll find hard to keep watching for 2.5 hours), apparently awesome in bed, great with guns, great with the family basically a badass. The other characters too, especially Perpendicular and Definite played their roles really well.

The story has a twist. Or many actually. And if you struggle with Hindi you may take a little longer to finally get in the loop of whats going on. The direction is superb. Script even better. Music out of this world Dil Chhi Chha Ledar still stuck in my head. And so is Nawazuddin Siddiqui, what an incredibly talented (and good looking) man.

Rajesh Khanna

Bollwood's first ever superstar Rajesh Khanna (KaKa) was cremated at Vile Parle Mumbai. Son-in-law Akshay Kumar lit the funeral pyre, accompanied by his son Aarav. Mr. Khanna died battling with cancer at his home in Mumbai on July 18, 2012 at the age of 69. He took his last breath at 1:40PM at his 'Aashirwad' residency at Carter Road Bandra.

The cremation was a private affair and the assembled press were asked by Akshay Kumar not to film the ceremony. Mr Khanna's body was taken to the cremation ground in a glass casket to allow his fans, thousands of whom lined Mumbai's roads, to pay their last respects.

Mr Khanna's estranged wife and veteran actress Dimple Kapadia was accompanied by her younger daughter Rinkie. Elder daughter Twinkle, who is pregnant with her second child and has been advised by doctors to rest, was not in evidence. Ms Kapadia separated from Mr Khanna in 1984, after 11 years of marriage, but never actually divorced.
Rajesh Khanna borrowed a phrase from the film fraternity that served him so well for 25 years to say his final goodbye yesterday. His last words are reported to have been - "time up ho gaya, pack up."

Mr Khanna's final words were revealed online by no less a person than Amitabh Bachchan, the late actor's co-star co-star in the films Anand and Namak Haraam. Mr Bachchan had rushed to Aashirwad, to be with the bereaved family and pay his last respects.
